You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give. - Winston Churchill

At Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital you can part of something extraordinary by helping our patients and their families during this very crucial time in their lives. You will find this experience both personally rewarding and emotionally meaningful. The difference you make in other lives will be reflected in your own.

Our volunteers range in age from teenagers to seniors. They are both male and female. Some are retired professionals but many others are still employed or in the middle of a career transition. We have stay at home moms, (and dads), students and those who have had life-impacting illnesses or injuries.

Our volunteers come from many different walks of life but they have something in common they are all very special people! They’re caring, sensitive, compassionate, individuals who value the contributions they can make to society.
